lost soul

lost soul

A Chapter by Lyn Anderson
"

Okay okay, you got an intensely personal one

"
They laugh and play
and dance
like we did
singing and silly
rolling on the floor

I remember it like it
was yesterday
performing for
mom and dad
in our old living room.

where are you my lost one?
before the demons
took you
burying you
deep in your dreams
and angry lies
the voices surrounding
you keeping false
company?

while those
who love you cry
watching two sisters dance
and remembering
the girl you used to be
.

I can only imagine...
Wow. What an immensely emotional and heart wrenching piece. It is horrible when we lose someone while they are losing themselves. A hopeless feeling mixed with longing. xo :)

I feel a need to offer an explanation. I never do. She is not lost to us due to time, or old age, or just regular things. She is still a young woman. She is sick and lost and drowning in untreated mental illness that our system deems is fair and right and just because she gets to choose to be this way - no one can make her come back to us, and that my friends, is the our government's way of protecting the mentally ill from the people who love them.

The process of aging. We forget the simple delights. I enjoyed the complete poem. You open the door to a long conversation. I got lucky. I have Grand-boys making me act young in my old age. Thank you for sharing the excellent poetry.

Thank you. So many wish to analyze my love poetry. But this one hurt to write.
Very nice..a snapshot from another time and yearning to relive.
Very nice...touching.
