just a touch

just a touch

A Chapter by Lyn Anderson
"

another stray thought

"
It's not
the first time
I saw you
catching your
breath and
shedding a tear
at the edge
of your bed.

what is it that you won't tell me?
what is it that hurts so much?

what is it you can't tell me
with just a touch?

Thank you, I am pleased this one has hit the mark.
Stray thoughts are like nuggets of past truths, or lies.
I can feel this one...

Very much so. Yes, one never knows.
Stray thoughts are often the most insightful... this one certainly is... I've caught my breath many times at the edge of that bed or the back of a deep, deep chair, and I have witnessed others doing the same. No one really knows what to do at these times, but just being there afterward for someone is often the best anyone can hope to do. Beautiful writing! Well done!

Why thank you, kind stranger, for stopping by and reviewing.
Hmm had a few mornings like that and nights too But for me having a wife is at times like this great. Cause I can tell her anything .Usually its one of my many regrets that have finally won the foot race to catch up to my life,

thank you so much, I appreciate that.
usually actions do speak louder than words...but it is frustrating when a partner seems to feel he or she cannot share...especially when we know that one is hurting so badly.

yes, and the irony is one can push the other away by forcing the issue. It is a dilemma indeed.
An imponderable secret can indeed erode away at the very foundation of any steadfast relationship, so better to have it out and deal with the consequences thereafter!

A stellar poetic quandary indeed KL !

Thanks so much for coming by again.
Oh, I do love this KL!! This write says so much with so little. We feel that those who are close to us should be able to communicate with a single touch. We should understand, but often times, we fall short. This is beautiful. I'm saving it in my favs!! xo :)
