The End of the World

The End of the World

A Chapter by Lyn Anderson
"

not what it may seem

"
woke up this morning
the sun had left the sky
not a bird was chirping light --

nope, sorry, that was for you, not me,
today the sun was never so high nor bright,
and the birds were singing happily,

for me, it's the beginning,
the End is for YOU.

Glad you picked this one. The organization has its perks. People running across my older stuff. :)
laughs, smiles and applauds heading to Canada right now. Love it KL. I picture the recipient slack jawed and struck dumb as you walk away into the future, leaving him in the past.

Thanks. Glad you enjoyed the intended spirit of this piece.:)
A sad poem my friend. I have known sad mornings. I was leaving for wars and new places. A hard sadness is felt. When we know you have found another goodbye. The pain begin in the morning. A beautiful and true poem. Thank you for the amazing poetry.

Oh my, I love that song too. Thanks for reminding me.:)
A great twist you have here; so very true... at first things may seem like they are so challenging, but then one day you will find yourself never happier, never more proud of yourself... and you will realize that it was only the beginning, and THEY were the ones who made a mistake. Great approach on this one, I love the sudden shift!

"don't they know, it's the end of the world, it ended when i lost your love"
but i like the attitude in this poem, and the reversal...basically saying when i lost your love...it opened new doors for me...but was the end of the world for you.

great song too..did you ever hear Hermans Hermits' version---as good if not better than the original.

Another reassuring piece as you divest yourself of the shards of the past.
