She needs more inches

She needs more inches

A Chapter by Lyn Anderson
"

not what you might think

"
She didn't
give an inch,
rather, she asked
for a couple in return.

he already
took his mile.

now she'd just
like a couple
extra inches
to play with.

I suppose if he's taken his mile. A couple of more inches are insignificant. Sooner or later, something has to give.

Thank you so much
Sometimes I wonder if there's ever a meeting in the middle. Seems there's always one half that gives a little more... Good poem KL.

Welcome :)
Quid pro quo. It's a necessity in a relationship - openness too - but instead tongues are bitten and words swallowed and festering takes place.
You skill with words and meanings is top notch KL. The reader laughs at the wit then sighs from the sadness.

:) i like it! lots of word play .. simply must be a balance in the reckoning eh!? seems "he" has a head start .. big time control between these lines .. strong creative way to put it KL .. the very least for your speaker is a little pay time :} fine hook of a title! solid use of metaphor held through out .. nice one! Ariana looks 10 ... not even as old as my granddaughter ;)

short but powerful depiction of the importance of compromise within any type of relationship, it has been put so simply, yet the lack of balance is so clear hinting at the devastating consequences that may come of it

Thank you very much.
This is a short stark poem that conveys in a very punchy way the feeling of being blunted and stuck in a one sided situation.

Thank you. I know you understand.:)
Pfft, this is KL just setting traps and snares to the weak minded. How on earth is one suppose to talk about "size does matter" or not depending on your preference with a title like this. Ok, ok I know that in essence this may be about relationships and human space, truly out of recognition and respect to find out what theo other's personal space is. A considerable time could be taken only to find out that out of greadiness and lack of thought you impose upon somone.

But as for the question that we shoudn't be thinking about? Will that get a fair trial too?

Thankyou

This most definitely is about personal relationships and not anything else.:)
