I used to say I hated orange

don't knock it till you try it

so my friend says to me
"I don't like yellow".

"what do you mean",
I say,
"which yellow doth offend thee? you don't like lemon, mustard, banana, or vanilla ice? or maybe you just don't like the colour
of pee?"

all of them are yellow
but none of them
are the same,
you see?

I used to say I hated orange, I don't know why

maybe because it refuses to rhyme

then one fateful day
I found just the right dress
at just the right time
a shade off watermelon
and a hair off scandalous ...

I used to say the
same thing about
girls I'd never kiss
but that's another story
I don't have time for this ...

now I'll never again
say I hate orange
or anything else
except maybe Mondays
and my Ex,
but I tried those first.

Interesting one. Mingling colors and images. Descriptive word use, an original line of thought. Reminds me of my way of thinking somehow.

This is a very entertaining & fun message that I enjoyed reading very much. I like the conversational tones. I'm reminded of how I'm often commenting in my reviews that people need to use more imaginative ways to describe colors, not just the basic stuff. I love your palette of yellows offered here! I used to be crazy about yellow & orange. I painted my bathroom yellow & bought yellow & orange flowered towels (in my 20's). I had a yellow car, then I had an orange car after that. Then I OD'ed on these two colors, so I never ever use them (except for the daisies in my yard, but they came up voluntarily!) I love this rambling account of everyday observations that SHOW us you, instead of explaining yourself (((HUGS)))

Sometimes, you just have to try it on the right day, or in the place, and on and on...
Note: My neighbor has chickens that lay green eggs...at first I was a bit put off, but now I can say "I do like green eggs and ham!"

Oh gosh- first, I learned how to paint because my friend said to me- look at a lemon- it isn't one shade of yellow.
Second, I once painted my living room bright orange- because I do things like that.
I should've gone with an off the shoulder dress instead.

I paint rooms better now- and now I try my hand at canvases too!

And I always procrastinate on taxes -- I am self employed and don't like to pay. But this year I had a valid excuse. I couldn't. Even 3 months post accident it still was pretty hard.
