the obstinate moon

the obstinate moon

A Chapter by Lyn Anderson
"

a little ditty

"
the obstinate moon
rests in sky so blue
can't help it baby,
it reminds of you --
smiling smugly
at the rising sun
attempting to
push through
the morning pink --

and wishing
you were here
with me
to chase
away
the day.

High praise from such a beautiful romantic poet. Thank you
A beautiful image posted Lyn and your poem, one of love. One that speaks to your readers of some special person being missed. Nicely composed and conveyed.

An unyielding lunar influence can indeed create thoughts of poetic yearnings; as clearly encapsulated within the stanzas of your wonderful write - brovo ... :-)

Thank you for your kind review
The moon shines for lovers, Lyn.. reminding us that though it might not always display, tis there.. always.. night and day - somewhere. Your words defy criticism.. this poem is beautiful.

Thank you kindly
Another sure win from the pen of Lyn! ; )
There's nothin' like a stubborn ol' moon battling it out with daylight, trying to last all day … conspiring with two lovers to rob the sun from its due, just to keep them entranced in the notion of gazing together at Luna when so far apart; yet, so close in their hearts and nighttime dreams.

Love the perfect picture and song choices … simply an altogether lovely piece.
Thank you ever-so warmly for sharing You with Us, Dear Lyn ⁓ Richard 🌟

I should bloomin think so, I have just been so busy my end :)
I love all moon writes and this is definitely no exception. This is relatable too in a way..wishing for a loved one to be there to make the day seem shorter. ..
The imagery in the opening stanza made me smile, esp. that of the moon smiling smugly at the rising sun ;)
