Revive Me

Without your love, 

I begin to lose myself. 

Not only mental loss, 

but a loss of all forms; 

physically too. 

I lose an appetite in everything.

I become noticeably thin.

I'm never eager for or up to do anything.

My body and mind are corrupt. 

The bags under my eyes continue to darken

and sulk even more,

and my skin;

sickly pale. 

My cracked lips are parched for your love 

and my eyes; 

lifeless. 

But when you come around,

I revive.

I awaken. 

I eat colorful food and absorb colorful knowledge.

My insomnia subsides and I maintain myself well. 

Those dead, dark eyes of mine light up

with soulful, passionate ignition. 

I recharge. 

But it's the pleasance of your presence,

which shoots electrical currents 

of joy,

wonder,

and love;

Through my purple veins,

and my little brittle bones.

This is wonderfully romantic. A different spin on it though and I like that!

This piece shows us just how important physical warmth is to another living soul. The imagery in the piece was chisled and clear. It made for a very visual and memorable piece to read. I liked how even though it had a sad or morose component, it followed through and ended on a positive note. This for me, is always a sign that hope is still alive and should remain so, for is one person can find it, others can as well.

I like how the poem is well balanced. Like a well defined story it rises up to a crescendo, or in this case is descended into a valley and then proceeded up the opposite direction. Thus it made for a smooth transition and overall flow.
