Senryu Love

Senryu Love

A Poem by Tilling

I was not ready,
unable to love was I.
All that has now changed.

I'm free to love You,
God, please teach me countless ways.
May my prayers be heard.

I see the Beauty,
before I could learn to love-
I had to love me.

This is profound in the desperate voice of the protagonist as they come to the realisation that before someone can truely love they have to love themeslves.

Thank you for teaching,
senryu differs from haiku.
I will change my titles :)
An essential truth recognized here. Before we love others, we must love ourselves. Many never grasp this and continue to be lonely and unhappy. Well done.
