Rumbling Down

Rumbling Down

A Poem by Nosce Te Ipsum

we all live in a virgin pool

celestial and shallow, a luminescent puddle

dip me in the indigo pyramid

with everyone else, with everyone else

inky and filled with tar and milk

i touch your hand on the way down

the way you begin at the tip

it’s dark and stars are smashed together

you make your way down, walking away

it dissipates and everything’s loose

if you hit the base and carry on

like an abyss, spacious and wide

the stars are gone, no longer shining

bright and beautiful in your eyes
