Hold Her Tight

Hold Her Tight

A Poem by ANDY

Her wrists are scared

Her heart is broken

She’s had a rope around her neck

But somehow she survived

I always see her

But I never see her smile

She’s never laughed or seen something happy

She’s just seen tears and heartbreak

I’ve told her jokes and tried to lift her up

She may’ve stopped frowning, but it wasn’t a smile

She’s got talent, she’s not at all lost

But she can’t find herself

I’ve done all I can to show her care

But I can’t see if she returns the feeling to me

I wonder if it’s worth it

I wonder if she loves me back

But then I wonder something else

What if she does love me, but can’t show it?

What if she is scared because of the Hell she’s been through?

What if she’s afraid I’ll hurt her?

All I can do is hold her hand

I’ll hold it tight and make her feel safe

I’ll do all I can to make her previous Hell a Heaven

I’ll keep trying to make her smile
