Who Other Than My Best Friend

Who Other Than My Best Friend

A Poem by Victoria Scott

In a moment, first impressions
Second guesses, fly out the window you thought you closed.
Platonic glances and hopeless romances
Leaving you vulnerable, exposed.

But you're the type of boy who would ask an old lady to dance
To make her feel alive again, in her lonely old age.
You're the type of boy who wouldn't like romance
But obviously doesn't know the definition.

You're the type of boy who pushed
Made me the better me I could be
You're the type of boy who looks at me the way I always dreamed
And made it even better than it seemed.

You're the type of boy who star gazed with me
And we laughed the entire time
Your dimpled cheek and steady eyes
Helped me finally to realize...

That you're the type of boy who I would be a fool not to see
The one who doesn't care what people think or say
The one who simply tries so hard.
Smiles at everyone with respect, regard,
You make every minute special, everyday.

I'll let the other girls have the bad boys
All I've ever said I wanted was a man who would love me
Take care of me, trust me.
Who other than your best friend?

This was beautiful. Just one thing, every "your" should be changed to you're; with the exception of "Your dimpled cheek and steady eyes" keep that one the same. :)
