One Day

One Day

A Poem by Victoria Scott
"

This is more of a personification poem, its not that good but I might as well post it ;)

"

One morning

A knock sounded upon the doors of time

While I was having tea

In the great summer sun

The knock resounded forth

What did it want with me?

What was I worth?

So I went over and opened the door

Only to find pictures

Dancing across the doorway

Pictures of the now and before.

And then pictures I had never seen

Flitted across the door ways screen

I was older, wiser

There were children and relatives

I was the patriarch

The undoubted advisor

The pictures stopped

And left my doorstep

I went back and sat down

My tea was cold, just so my heart

I will grow old

One day.

So I stood up resolutely…..

And poured myself more tea.

Does that sound like me? Yay! Only I would rather coffee instead of tea haha :)

I enjoyed the ending where you resolutely made more tea! Just like you in fact! I enjoyed the flow even without the rhyme in fact I had to look back to realize there weren't any accept for 'seen' and 'screen'. Brilliantly poetic

It's true everyday we grow older and everyday we're colser to death then we were before, (I know it sounds a bit sadistic, buut it's true.) i lovge how poetic this sounds and the figurative language you used. great write! ^^
