Sometimes it cheers me up to cheer someone else up

Why are you upset, clown?

 

I think you’re funny

Let me put an end

To all your worries

  

At every minute

And every second

Of my life

I smile and laugh at you

It makes me love you

With all my heart,

I'm so happy

And proud that I have met you,

 

Your jokes are so funny

Listening to them

Makes me laugh and choke

 

I admire your colourful costume,

Your make-up is so stunning,

 

You make me feel,

I should go to a party

So you can hold my hand,

And take me to the dance floor

 

You don't need to command and demand,

I will go to the wild party

 

You have welcomed

Laughter into my life

I thank you so much for it

 

You’re unforgettable,

I will love you,

And treat you always,

This instantly drew me because of the title and because I feel like a clown for taking myself seriously. Your clown reminds me how the trick is to give something to another not to set out to win. The giving is the most important part. If we learn that, we might if we are very, very lucky, also win. But is winning so important? 'You make me feel' is my fave line. To set out with that as the goal seems the best way for any artist to be. Bravo, clown!

I enjoyed the mix of child-like adoration combined with the adult definition of love and how well it played into this read. It led me down a mental trail of fascination and wonder about just who the clown is and what role they play, or whether they are just a clown and the world through a child's eyes.

when i think of clowns i think of Pennywise from Stephen King's "It" and various other murdering no goods DRESSED as clowns!! ha ha This was a refreshing change from what my mind usuallythinks of clowns...kudos for bringing the fun and sweetness back :)
