We fell

We fell. Love struck.
It flowed in our veins, like warm blood.
It filled our entire being, like oxygen fills our lungs.
And we held on to it, like a child holds on to its teddy bear.
But it left us quick, like a bullet leaving the chamber.
We had nothing left, like the darkest oblivion.
And we had nobody to blame, only you and I.
We fell into nothingness, like the black hole in space.
We forgot to nurture it, like we forget to water roses.
My tears fall slowly, like watching as the sun sets.
Knowing it will never come again, like yesterday's memories.
And I will do nothing to bring it back, cause I know we fell.
