Your memory....

Your memory....

A Poem by Angie G
"

Learn to love yourself more than their memories.

"
It sailed away.. Losing sight of it among tumultuous waves.
It rode away.. Escaping into abandoned roads left to explore.
It walked away.. Disappearing beyond the horizon.

I welcome the serenity that embraces me since I let go. My heart has begun to forget and I allow it to heal. I've accepted the pain but I've also taken in the comfort of knowing it's better this way.

It sailed away.. Taking my heart, but not
breaking me.
It rode away .. As I look forward to a brighter tomorrow.
It walked away.. But I won't look back.

Only thing left to say ... Good bye... To your memory.

The reason this is so effective is becuz you state it in terms of your own personal experience . . . it's a lesson without sounding preachy. You put this experience, this healing process, out there as a possible example for anyone who might be hurting & looking for something to hold onto. Excellent use of imagery & dynamic verbs. That final letting go is a big deal & it should be carried out as a celebration of one's survival, as your message suggests (((HUGS))) Fondly, Margie
