3. WHY ARE THERE NO MONKEYS?!A Chapter by CrimsonBlazeThe epic duo make their debut ..Chapter 3- Stuey’s POV- Why are there NO
MONKEYS?! I’ve been living here for a few years now,
and I have to say, Amanda’s choice wasn’t so bad. Although she could be proved
annoying, hogging the only desktop and leaving me with my laptop, she always
could make the best of outfits whether for cosplaying or just for regular wear.
After all, there were obviously no stores around here for buying supplies.
However, this weird tribe right around the corner, who always spoke gibberish
that Amanda could understand, supplied us with food-which was surprisingly not
all too bad. When we arrived in the thick jungle, I
expected monkeys to be derping around everywhere, their screeches sounding like
some demented unicorn-like I know what that sounds like anyway. But, there were
barely any wild exotic animals, only these weird creatures-like these little
orb things with wings of different colors, that let’s just say loves to bother us. I don’t really know
if they’re fairies, but whatever they were, they were a PAIN- Always stealing
our food, messing up Amanda’s creations, and most of all loved tugging on my
hair late at night. There were also these weird colorful birds
of all sizes, a particular fat one that loved to rest on our porch roof. Not to
mention all the reptilians that always ran away from us instead of lunging for
a first bite. But still-NO MONKEYS? HOW CAN I BE A NINJA WITHOUT MONKEYS TO
HELP ME? That question was answered when Amanda took me out deeper into the
jungle, her wavy brown hair tied up in a ponytail. She carried two long things
that resembled sticks on her back, pulling the large thicket of leaves and
brush until we stopped in a large clearing. Light seeped in, making the place look
eerie. Amanda took out a whistle and blew hard. Within seconds I heard a steady
rumbling thundering in the distance. She tossed me one of the long wrapped
stick looking thingies and smiled confidently at me. “You ready? This is gonna
be the first training session I’ll have with you so pay attention and don’t get
yourself killed,” she said calmly as I unwrapped the black blanket. It
was a sleek long shiny katana, just my size, and its handle rubbery with its
light wispy blue markings. The rumbling became deafening as a couple of large
orbs loomed into view. It was then I knew what the pesky orbs were. They were
some kind of fae, but obviously the ones before us were a million times larger,
and their features were horrendous. Both looked like ghosts, wisps of smoke
where their legs and feet should be. Their hands were overly large, claws
sprouting out of each finger. Its eyes were only dark sunken holes its mouth
gaped wide open, a large crescent gash slashed over their radiant faces. They
both took a step forward, towering above us, their bottom threatening to
envelope us in that mist. Then there came the first attack. A large shriek
ripped through the air, rippling the trees, making medium sized dust cloud
tornadoes swirl all around us. I flew backward, my hand clenched around the handle
of the katana as I struggled not to skewer myself with it. “COME ON,” urged
Amanda, who had her katana at her side, hands held up, blocking the attack,
wisps of vanilla mist swirling around her. “SHOW THEM WHO’S BOSS!” I
picked myself up again before lunging at the fae, falling backwards as they
extended both their hands, releasing a large burst that would of almost fried
me if I hadn’t stepped to the right. I flinched as I heard something like an
explosion erupt a few feet away, Amanda’s katana lying on in a patch of singed
brush, eyes a bright light gold as she kept throwing royal blue spheres at one
of the crumbling fae. Soon
enough, the fae exploded into rays of light, something like dust raining down
us. Amanda-having powers like that? Maybe I’m going insane… “AAAAUGH!” I yelled
as a fist pummeled the ground next to me. Amanda
shot me a pointed look before I spotted her katana embedded in one of the fae’s
void like eyes. “USE THE KATANA!” she hollered, dodging another scream blow.
“YOU CAN’T DO WHAT I JUST DID JUST YET!” Frowning
grimly, I ran top speed towards one of the trees, jumped high up, climbed the
trunk a few steps before back flipping onto the fae’s arm. Note to self: Fae
arm extremely hairy and smells like crap. Nonetheless, I began stabbing at
random, green stuff oozing out of the cuts I made. “WHAT’RE YOU DOING?” Amanda
yelled, digging her nails into her head. “DON’T STAB THE ARM, GO FOR THE FACE!” “OKAY,
OKAY!” I screamed, running past the hand that slapped the arm. I
took one swift jump then stabbed the fae in the other eye, bright rays of green
and white blinding my eyes. First I was on its face, and then I was standing in
thin air. Screaming like crazy, flailing my noodle arms like a chicken, I
plummeted towards the ground. Amanda put up her right hand a flat disk of blue
blocking my fall, making me bounce onto the ground. “Wasn’t too bad for a
noob,” she commented, “Come on; let’s go see what that tribe has.” Since
that day, when I was ten, Amanda fourteen (now seventeen); I had grown to be a
great one with the sword, but I still wished I could do what Amanda did. She
kept telling me not yet-but soon. This noon, I came back to my laptop to see a
bunch of messages from this guy named Eridan Ampora, saying he was my patron
along with another one. Ignoring the d****e looking guy, I shut down my laptop
and came down here in the sunroom to watch Giga pecking at himself-yeah that
fat bird. I
named him Giga after that Giga Pudding thing. Both Giga Pudding and bird
jiggled-end of story. I sighed as I saw the same animals scuttle by, a few
smaller fae fluttering around in small clusters. If there really are no monkeys
or other regular animals, then maybe that tribe ate them all. © 2012 CrimsonBlazeAuthor's Note
