5. Keepin' WatchA Chapter by CrimsonBlazeSeth is lookin cool :PChapter 5-Seth’s POV-Keepin’ Watch I wish I could move, but the three of us had
to stay here for some odd reason. Both Kay and Amanda told us Jordan, Ashley,
and I to stay here in Stewartsville “just in case.” Just in case for what? I
really don’t know. However I still am living somewhat of a normal life here.
There was only a month left till school would cease punching lessons into our
fragile brains and I couldn’t wait to dip myself into a pool. All these several years I had kept up with
the rest who had left, including Bill, who moved along with his older brother
up to the mountains. I wish luck for him. Poor guy is really afraid of heights.
Using Pesterchum, I had also encountered these teenagers who were probably a
year older than me that informed me on what would be my “destiny.” They kept
addressing me as Prince of Success, especially that girl with the purple
text…her name…oh yes, Rose, Rose Lalonde. John, on the other hand is the other
unknown person I chatted with, who served as my storyteller telling of his past
adventures and the ones he would guide me through. Two others, Dave and Jade
didn’t talk to me as much and Jade hung out with Ashley rather than me. Didn’t
blame the girl at all. Although I had four people keeping watch over me through
Pesterchum, it didn’t occur to me that Ashley and Gabriel would filled me in on
their recent supposed internet trolls. Ashley was being monitored by someone named
Gamzee, who always cursed every other sentence, as she kept telling me. By the
way she nearly was at the end of her wits at school, Gamzee wasn’t treating her
well. Even worse, she refused to give me her “patron troll’s” chumhandle so I
could pummel the dude in the face. Another one, a guy named Sollux began
pestering Gabe, but the two were in okay terms. I don’t really see a reason why
I should pummel that guy in the face. Like I said, I wish I could have moved-but
my parents aren’t too keen on following in my friends’ footsteps and my little
brother and sister threatened to burn me alive in the sun if I asked
again-which I DON’T see how that’s possible. Eh, little kids and their messed
up minds…Meanwhile my older brother was the one who never got acquainted with
any of the things we did and weren’t so close to Amanda and the rest. I was outside, on my bike, my feet pumping
the pedals as I gained speed on the hill. The wind whipped through my blonde
hair, my eyes stinging from the bright rays of the sun. The smell of barbecue
roasting nearby made my stomach growl, but I ignored it anyway as I veered
around the corner, pedaling towards Jordan’s house. My cellphone let out an
earsplitting tone, causing my hand to grip the breaks, nearly throwing me
forward as I let out a good bit of colorful language. Wiping the sweat from my brow, I fumbled
for my cellphone my fingers gripping its sleek surface. Tapping the answer
button, I put the phone up to my ear, flinching as Stuey’s loud voice pierced
my eardrums. “Hey kid!” she yelled. Must be Giga acting up. “Sorry-one sec, One
of those tiny fae things are attacking Amanda and-OH MY GOD GET OFF HER HEAD
YOU TWERPS!” Scratch that; maybe it wasn’t that fat
bird. “Sorry, I just wanted to ask if you came into contact with something
called a patron troll,” she continued the background noises dying down on the
other line. “Someone called Eridan kept bothering both Zara and I saying he was
our patron… Do you know anyone else?” Tucking the phone between my shoulder and
ear, I hopped onto my bike and rode a few more seconds, slipping into Jordan’s
open garage. “I haven’t,” I replied. “But Gabe said he had someone named Sollux
and Ashley said she had someone named Gamzee. Did Amanda have anything?” “She won’t tell me. She said the ones she
hangs out with are her age and not like the ones we encountered. She said she
was actually surprised these internet trolls had the guts to contact us at all.
They just finished helping another bunch of kids and some left to start
relationships with the previous kids.” “Well then they could be older than us because
I think I’ve gotten into contact with those kids before. Four kids to be exact.
John, Jade, Rose and Dave. Dave and someone named Terezi are together, Jade
with this sprite named Dave, and Rose with a girl named Kanaya-which freaking
surprised me. Not to mention John-he’s got Vriska.” I leaned against the garage wall, Jordan
greeting me silently as he handed me a bottle of water. Together we set off to
Woody’s house for our daily basketball routine. Usually we would meet at either
Ryan’s or Woody’s house to play basketball, and hang out. Stuey had gone silent
for awhile, claiming she needed to go smack another pesky fae. “So Jordan,” I said, as we walked towards
Woody’s house. “Did you meet someone yet?” “Oh what do you mean?” he asked, grinning slyly.
“I met this girl named Nepeta, she’s really nice. Do you know her?” Great. I was the only one yet that wasn’t
“claimed” as I call it. Am I special? Or is everyone just teasing me with their
“newfound friends?” © 2012 CrimsonBlazeAuthor's Note
