30. No BeginningA Chapter by CrimsonBlazeChapter 31- Libby’s
POV- No Beginning I shifted in the back car seat, Shawn stirring slightly beside me, moaning. His cap brim was tilted low over his
face, his glasses crooked, brown hair peeking from his cap. He was scrunched up
beside me, peacefully sleeping under the spare blanket we managed to salvage.
My phone vibrated once again, waiting impatiently for me to take it into my
hands. I guess they must have found out I was gone. Judging by the many vibrate
bombs burst throughout the early rays of sunlight, they were flipping the f**k
out"just as I told them NOT to. Pulling myself up, I glanced at the
rest of Shawn’s crew. Josh was already awake in the driver’s seat, keeping watch
for any approaching sickos, often brushing his straight blonde bangs back, and
pushing back his glasses to see better. In his lap was a rifle, probably
already equipped with bullets. Gianluca was still snoozing beside him; his head
slumped against the window. Robby with his plump form, cradled a machine gun,
laying down on the whole middle row. Last night was like hell"chaotic. I
only had about four hours of sleep before Shawn called me, his tone loud and
filled with worry. The guy was basically shrieking in desperation, babbling to
get my attention. I remembered hearing gunshots in the background, yelling and
the faint moaning of zombies. He told me their chaperone ditched at Wegmans for
survival. How nice. All it took was Shawn to scream in pain for me to rush out
and leave the house with my katana and phone. I also took care in scribbling down
some notes for Zara and company, so as not to seem as if I just ditched them
for no reason. I made my way down from the windows and ran till I could see the
store. I didn’t stop to rest at all. Shawn was in trouble"I didn’t him to die.
Unfortunately, the hardcore battle was ceasing, leaving me to carve a pathway
to the car they previously rode in. We came into a conclusion that maybe the chaperone
was killer or set off on foot because when we reached the parking lot, the
truck was still there. Either way, Josh had the car keys
and drove"yes I had to trust him with this one since he was tall enough to
accurately reach the pedals. Despite the fact he was a klutz with vehicles ever
since he was little, often almost ramming over someone with one of those kiddy
jeeps. However back then zombies were nearing and as you can see, there was no
time for a driving test. After a five minute rollercoaster
ride, we parked in front of Shido’s neighborhood, like I instructed Josh to do
with a bunch of screams and difficult hand motions. I slumped back into my
seat, examining Shawn’s gashed knee. The night before, Robby clumsily sprayed bullets
over the window, causing shards of glass to rain onto us, one of the pieces
cutting Sean’s leg. I spent another hour that night playing doctor, nursing
him. Thankfully the bleeding ceased, but
sooner or later I had to wipe the blood stains and caked blood, whether it hurt
or not. Once everyone is up and awake, I’ll have to guide them to Shido’s and persuade
everyone that he isn’t such a bad guy. “Hey Libs,” Josh called softly, “Check
your phone already, the vibrating is kinda annoying.” “Geez, okay!” I replied, pulling out
my cellphone. “They shouldn’t be flipping out anyway.” I tapped the messaging icon, where
Stuey sent me about seven texts, each drowning me with guilt. It was so screwed
yesterday I didn’t even think about Mat"or Shido and Odessa for that matter. Stuey: HEY KID!!!!!
WHERE ARE YOU CHILD??? PLEASE ANSWER T^T Stuey: PLEASE DON’T
TELL ME YOUR DEAD!! YOU CAN’T DIE NOW, WE CAN’T LIVE WITHOUT YOU!!! Stuey: Hey this is
Tess I just wanted to tell u that we are FLIPPING THE FUCKK FUCKK FUCKK out. Stuey: Libby! D: Libby!
ANSSSWEEEER ^(o3o)^ Stuey: I gave the
notes to Mat… Stuey: Okay, Mat is
breaking down and its depressing! Help! Stuey: WHY U NO
ANSWER??? "meme- D:< I have to say that I was worrying about Mat the most.
We had to split because I knew we couldn’t stay like this for long. I set the
phone back in my pocket, having no courage to send one back. I turned it off
for good measure, making sure no one else could contact me. Josh looked back,
as Shawn sat up lethargically, stretching. Robby and Gianluca were awake,
glancing at me. “Okay guys,” I began, rising slightly in the cramped truck. “Turn
into Chestnut Avenue and keep going straight.” “Where are we heading?” Josh asked,
revving it up. “You’ll see.” © 2012 CrimsonBlazeAuthor's Note
