Do Not Stand at My Grave and Weep

Do Not Stand at My Grave and Weep

A Poem by A. Lee

Do not stand at my grave,

And woefully weep.

For I don't lie dead,

but merely asleep.

You can bet I won't stay,

In this cold frigid ground.

if you really must find me,

I'm sure to be found.

just wait for the spring time,

That fresh breath of new air.

After a harsh winter,

I'll find my way there.

Wait for the summer rains,

Falling cool on the concrete.

You can meet me outside,

And we'll dance in our bare feet.

Wait for the autumn nights.

The stars in the sky,

If you stare long enough,

You just might catch my eye.

But most of all, don't wait.

Please don't waste your time.

You don't have to search.

You don't have to try.

If you really knew me,

If I still cross your mind,

I'll be everywhere you look,

And so easy to find.

That way I'm in you're heart;

For you'll always be in mine.

Wow such a strong piece of poetry and so well expressed too.
I really like this, it's deep, dark, and personal. Which makes
an awesome read to me. Love the flow and rhyme scheme
it is spot on. Awesome writing!
