Small

Small

A Poem by Anna

Being small has never been a problem to me
I just live each day as if I am not different at all
But the mocking of my size aches me
When someone reminds me that I am not
As worthy as they are

I am a puddle on the ground
While they are the ocean
I am a tiny rock
While they are the boulder
That holds firm at the the idea that
They are dominant
And I am not
That I am not worthy
That I am less

But I am not
You can't put your rain boots on to splash in the ocean
You can't move a boulder anywhere you'd like it to go

I am worthy
And stronger than what the eye sees

I am more
And I live each day because I am no different than you
But I am
Because
I am small
