WHEN IN LIFE

Have you ever noticed your shadow, paid attention to it. Whenever you face the sunshine it always falls behind you...so it is in life.

When nothing in life makes any sense,

when storm clouds turn your days to gray,
when it seems no matter how you try
you can't get out of your own way;
life seems full of stumbling blocks
and you're up against a barricade,
prayer seems bouncing off the wall,
when faith, hope and courage start to fade;
Keep trusting anyway…

 

Look up and look around you,
open up your eyes,
turn your face to face the sun
and soon you'll realizes
that your shadows are behind you;
life won't seem so undone
walking through life step by step,
taking each day one by one;
not fretting and not projecting,
over what may have been or what may be;
by living one day at a time
you'll live more happily.

Life is what we make it.
God never promised us smooth roads,
but He assured us He'd walk with us
and He'd help carry the load
just as soon as we are ready
to really trust our life to Him,
not give Him our worries
and then take them back again.

When nothing in life makes any sense
and our vision is growing dim,
if we'd just follow as God leads
life wouldn't look so grim;
but even God can't lead us
if we won't follow Him.
He can blaze the trail before us.
He can even light the way
but He can't help us climb the hill
if we in the valleys stay.
We have to do the footwork.
God provides the way, the grace
but we'll always live in shadows
if the sun we never face.

When nothing in life makes any sense,
when storm clouds turn your days to gray,
when prayer seems bouncing off the wall,
when faith, hope and courage start to fade;
don't give up or be discouraged;
keep trusting anyway.
God hears every whispered prayer.
He knows our needs before we ask,
so give your gray skies to the Lord
and then don't take them back.
