Into A Jaded Night

Into A Jaded Night

A Poem by Annie N.
"

of tainted moons and jilted orbits...

"

For fear of a hasty existence,

The living strives for a restless slumber.

We search for the night,

By inky swirls and somber shadows;

Trace glimmers in the dark and miss the sun.

Worthless, we march,

Deny our problems and our promises,

And all too often in the dark, we

Surrender to the stars,

Of tainted moons and jilted orbits

Forget the light of day and triumphs gone.

For the chalk and lemonade childhoods,

We linger in the presence of our youth;

Innocence like shattered glass

Impromptu destruction

We bear its weight in our own gravity.

Make known our wasted pleasures,

Discretely we will share our whispered secrets.

Hide not behind the stars " they are too bright,

And submit into the sleeping bodies of our sins.

Do not seek the night,

The moon in all its beauty cannot defeat a shining sun.

Too young do we get tired,

And if the stars blink out we cry

For we are ever jaded.
