White Butterfly

White Butterfly

A Poem by Elle Thompson
"

Just a brief poem I found in my notes from this semester about a memory from my childhood.

"
By the window
In a red door
I saw you
Glistening, glimmering, gossamer white
My hand closed
Around your paper wings
Stealing shimmering flakes
and leaving you a wire skeleton
Struggling in the dark.

Very nice piece. I feel the element of sadness, as well as the element of wonder, innocence and so much more. Congratulations. Only a true writer could accomplish so much in such little words.
