Day of Reckoning

Day of Reckoning

A Poem by Anthony
"

Which way of life is better?

"
When that day comes
And, by God, it will,
Is the life of darkness
Worth the life of light?

My darkness, my past
One in the same.
Your darkness,
May or may not.

It feeds on me
Feasting on my light
My spark of life
My eternal soul.

But where does that,
That which feeds,
Go?

I tell you,
It does not feed itself
But these words.

Born of darkness
Born of light,
These words
Reside in truth.

Truth heeds no one
No darkness
No light,
Not even me.

So I ask,
When the day of reckoning comes
And, by God, it will,
Is the darkness worth it?

Well,
That's for the reader to decide.
