She understands

She understands

A Poem by Anusha Prabhu
"

A dedication to my friend... who understands :)

"

“I know how you feel”

“No you don’t”

“Yes, I do!”

“Well, that’s warm”

And a tear rolls down her cheek

She’s found someone… a friend

Who knows… Understands…

And yearns to make it all fine.

She asks,

“What happened?”

“It’s choking me… deep inside,

I feel hollow, like there’s nothing inside

Just empty… hollow… dark!

I feel like one day, it’ll all disappear

Me, my memories and my deeds

All in a beat, would disappear

Yet no one would know

That there was something

That’s now missing!”

…It’s choking me… deep inside”

“Well, what is… is it the pain?”

“No!

It’s the air itself…

Like it doesn’t love me… just like everyone else,

But it doesn’t matter… never did

I was always broken, still am

I break much easily now because I feel you

Trying to help me!

And fill that hollow blank

Like you want the air… to love me now

I break much easily now… because I fear… losing you”

And her friend, not voicing a word,

Wipes away her tears, simply smiles… and says

“They hate you, simply because they don’t deserve you”

And that day

With a simple smile… and silent sympathy

A life was saved,

One day it will all be gone, it will no matter how great a name is its name will be erased from history.
What matters is a making a great present in this moment,
It does not matter who I am, or who they are.
The one that matters really at this particular moment is you.
Everything around will change except you. We think who will remember us?? What matters is what you will make worth remembering about yourself and the way you felt at that point in time.
