Mattress

Lack of motivation, and how inactivity breeds laziness.

I’ve slept enough but I won’t get up,

Sunlight scorching duvet,

Duvet cooking me,

One leg out, one arm on top,

Better for now,

I’ve overslept, and now I can’t get up,

Laughter outside,

Lawnmowers, traffic,

The world moving on without,

I don’t need to get up,

I want to,

A piece of me at least,

My back disagrees with my decision,

It aches as I arch after lazing in reflection,

Shower, coffee, cigarette,

Coffee, cigarette,

Cigarette, cigarette,

I’m barely alive, never mind awake,

I overslept, 

And now I can’t get up,

Won’t get up,

I need to get up.
