Early One Morning

Early One Morning

A Poem by Imara
"

A poem about that clover that moves without anyone moving it.

"

One early morning

I stood next to a patch of greens.

Staring strongly at it all

And yet nothing too keen

In the middle of the flora

A single twisted clover jumped,

And pushed itself quickly straight

To face the golden morning light.

I wondered to myself

What should have caused this jump.

Was it a bug whose weight suddenly left

Perhaps a soft low blowing breeze?

Maybe a jolt of growth

Was what brought upon that change.

Or maybe, the sprout just moved

With a flytrap like power

Thusfar unknown to me.

But the more I think about this leaf,

The strong the possibility seems

That standing straight as it did now

This plant has always been.

Author's Note

Imara
How does the flow work? Is the meaning to hard to find? In truth I am talking about little changes in life that we notice but since they are so small we tend to think that that's the way things have always been. Like school colors if we changed them, in 4 years everyone would think that's the way that things always were.

Loved this piece. As usual, your old soul shines. That's a really cool parallel... the clover that moved and how life itself changes slightly and it goes unnoticed. I guess that's how time flies and the years go by without us even observing it.

Really enjoyed this, as I have all your pieces!

It turned out so real. Just as the school colours. So real.

i like your use of the clover as a metaphor to life and the oblvious changes we make that seem small , so much abyss profundity in this poem i like it
