Longing

Longing

A Poem by Tate Morgan
"

But what to me was east and west and lure of many lands could never replace the green grass with tepid heated sands

"

Rebecca

Though now the clouds roll over me

as the west winds have blown

I find I long for distant plains

endless skies I have known

But what to me was east and west

and lure of many lands

could never replace the green grass

with tepid heated sands

For here was where I set my roots

bright summers in the glen

A-wash in colors of the fall

your heart shines now as then

Author's Note

Tate Morgan
While at times I long for adventure from my misspent youth. I always turn to Becky and smile, realizing, I have come to the end of the rainbow.

Your welcome. And that's so sweet. :)
Hi, Tate … it's Richard, come to pay a visit! : )
Photograph, font choice, and color each add to the ambiance of your word choices, helping set a mood that harmonizes smoothly to the beat of your 8/6-count Quatrains, and the abcb, defe, etc; rhyme-scheme.
I hope Becky has had the privilege of reading this passionately tender piece in homage to her, and when Nature, Her colors and textures, are blended softly with the lure of human emotion, it cannot help but be a winner.

Thank you, Tate, for sharing your splendid skills! 〜 Richard
