Though now the clouds roll over me

as the west winds have blown

I find I long for distant plains

endless skies I have known

 

But what to me was east and west

and lure of many lands

could never replace the green grass

with tepid heated sands

 

For here was where I set my roots

bright summers in the glen

"for here is where I set my roots...your heart shines now as then" ...what an awesome great awesome thing, your ability to feel that sense of appreciating your love and surrounding, that place you set your roots, is cool, I want to set my roots to, what I mean is that it struck me today, I need to appreciate each place I find myself and look around at it, see what is there, what can I do, is it just what I ought or ought not, I won't be able to attend to everything, yet there is a certain result with this or that and we have to figure it out, don't mind my rambling

I wonder, why, when one says the best is realized in life, there remains a longing....I think a longing is a need for something never fulfilled in ones life, whether we are living in the green grass of home or in a castle on the hill...that hole in the mid section seems to growl to be fed.....I always wonder if it ever will be...maybe that is what writing is about...considering what was, what is and what lies ahead in possibilities....as always Tate...good thoughts in your writing!
