Questions

A Poem by Tate Morgan
"

Is the duality of nature the cornerstone of our own conscience?

"
Hippie Chic

Granddaughter Payton and I pondering the truths of the universe.

Often I ponder the question

can one think too much for ones good

Until it becomes an obsession

on wondering if a man should

Why do I query my own mind

as sadly I prove myself right

The two halves becoming entwined

in tauntings that cause them to fight

Is this my own duality

with the conscience I hold so dear

Or do I taste mortality

with it's old friend mighty fear

I find myself set in my ways

unlike those nights back in my youth

When I was such a fire ablaze

who never questioned life or truth

Author's Note

Tate Morgan
The heights and depths of a poets life are filled with joys beyond compare and depths of despair. However I wouldn't trade that for a life of dull monotony.
One thing for sure we know Love. We know pain. They are two sides of the same coin. However they are the way we balance life leaping from one trial into another. We love with all our being and when disappointed we cry from the depths of the Heart.

Often I find my own mind is at odds with itself and I wonder if this is the duality of nature or the cornerstone of our own conscience?
I look at my granddaughter and all I see is absolutes.

LOL where have you been my entire life!...words to fill the Spirit and question the soul!...ahhh choices and the on- going battle within..( that coming from an over-thinker myself) BUT, look at that child! There it is...perfection with endless possibilities.

So very true how we get older and then YES...we think too much! Our mind becomes our grounding force that takes away the freedom of childhood

My Review of "Questions," by Tate Morgan, a fellow Writer's Cafe Author
by PB Jacobs (www.writerscafe.org)

Happy AM, Tate!

Yeah, tis the season for the idiots who are trying to rip me off to come out with their arsenal of doorstop excuses. Just a tidbit, for you.

Any way's. You have a lot of enthusiasm and liberal artistry going for you, I see, and you have a nifty approach to peddling your writing stash! Awesome! I do the same thing you do, here and there.

So, this is a figure thing's out, kind of writing, huh? Yup. Thinking is writing, and writing is thinking, and I gotta give you credit for writing your thinking down.

Why think yourself into a corner, to the point of energetic stagnation? I, personally, don't wind my mind up that much, as I don't want to put up with an inner energy fallout.

I cheerlead my mind not to be so wound up by thinking things like the word's "nice and easy" to it, and yes, my mind know's if I'm sincere about this.

Good work, and I like the signature thing you have going on, as well. Way to flash your artistry!

Fea foe fumming, as usual, for me, as well.

A writer or anyone when living life eventually ask themselves question. I suppose it is a job for some yet some people overthink tormenting themselves with how their lives could be better and what they could have done. I however know you can never change the past you can only make a brighter future. very beautiful my fellow writer.

Profound words...this is very true. I too, would not trade that for a life of monotony. I would even thank God and the hostilities in life, for it taught me so much, and through it, i found the answer to my own existence.

I have always loved your poetry because they are written well and beautifully convey emotion. This one reminds me of all the times I tend to overthink things and I miss out on so much. It makes me sad, but happy that you awakened something inside of me that might have been dormant for too long.

I'm going to be honest here, and hopefully you won't take offense. Stick with me, I'll come back around in the end of this review! Sometimes, when I get into your poety, I'm a bit lost, or feel as if the verses could have so much more depth to them, if your choice of words were different. That, is the editor in me. But then... you always manage to reel me back in with such fantastic final verses, that I have to go back, and re-read the entire piece. So, congrats on that. As a songwriter, and performer, I always tell the people I'm making music with, that it's absolutely fine to screw up here and there throughout the song... just make the last 30 seconds count, flawless, and emotionally outstanding, and no one in the audience will have any idea you didn't nail it during the tune. I compare this to your work my friend... even when every verse is good in your work, the last 30 seconds of your poems are always magnificent.
