Bernie

Bernie

A Poem by Tate Morgan
"

Don't wait till your life is all done to learn the lessons of a fool Know the rewards of self are none where love of others is the rule

"

America's favorite son Bernie Sanders with family and friends

What is the value of a life

built on shattered dreams from others

And so it's thus, for each of us

who can't feel for our own brothers

These the thoughts of Bernie Sanders

who's cried for half a century

"Lift up your sons, put down your guns

empty your penitentiary”

"Pick up the sad, lonely and poor

help your friends in humility

Open your soul, make that your goal

put away your hostility”

His struggle from the depths of a heart

so relentless yet so profound

echo's in waves, patriot graves

where mothers tears cover the ground

A grateful nation now reports

the cry that began as a plea

That's shook our core, with something more

all the way to Antiquity

A wonderful man! Unfortunately, he had no chance, as you can see the mentality of this country is still in the dark ages. If we don't raise the standards of education "the wall" will fall and crush us!
Great writing, provokes emotion and awareness. Keep writing and spreading the word!

Anne so nice to see you again I thank you on behalf of humanity
The words were chosen carefully. The rhyming was there but the meaning is still intact.

"Pick up the sad, lonely and poor
help your friends in humility
Open your soul, make that your goal
put away your hostility”

It has a certain rhythm to it that makes you want to read on. Great work!

So sad but this is the truth. The City that I live in has claimed so many lives due to needless gun violence. I hope Bernie Sander's plea gets heard and it resonates through out the streets of Chicago.

Difficult to comment on this, as it might lead into very political arguments. And as a Brit I`m not too sureI should get involved. I ( personally) like him too, but he might be considered too left to beat Trump,so Clinton might be the safer bet. And I think you make him here into a Saint. He is a politician...
