My Girl

My Girl

A Poem by Tate Morgan
"

The girl I loved most in life

"

My Girl

With the girl I loved most in life

I walked in street lamps glow

Could she hear my heart calling

for the love I never show

Treading lightly along beside

her footprints marked the snow

The warmth of heart I felt for her

I doubt she will ever know

With the girl I loved most in life

I walked in street lamps glow

Oh if I could stop Earth turning

then she might never go

Very beautiful poetry! I like how you added the music so we could get the feeling in this poem a little more. Great job!

Thank you so much I like to use multi media
street lamps ...before my right of passage i had to be home by the time they lit up :) ....i was a shy guy but loved the ladies ...such a quandary ... your poem has inspired me to try to recall them ... once i got my feet under me i actually talked, danced and dated most of those i was attracted to ...but far many more on the path to stumbling babbling tongue :) i think this might have made a better tune

I wonder how many young women were loved but did not know, what if? Your words took me back to high school. To a time when I was head over heels with the young (but much older than me, 4 or 5 years, School Secretary). I even remembered her name. A name not thought of for more years than I am willing to think about. The point being, your poem of 75 words had the power of connecting me to a time in my own life to a similar experience. Thanks for that Tate, your skills at weaving the poets craft made a difference through your depiction of a similar experience to mine, and I'm betting similar to many other peoples.

This is really a poetic gem out of your mighty ink. How softly the feelings flow through the unfathomed heart! Had she known her lover she would have enjoyed her life with the most popular romance of the lovely writer!
I really enjoy it dearest Tere...
Have a nice time!
