Darkness

Darkness

A Poem by Tate Morgan
"

No one controls the hearts desire. Nor whether it be happy or sad.

"

Of all the faces man puts forth

to hide the dark inner sorrows

Love is the one that matters most

as from the deep soul it borrows

We know the Fate's in their fury

don't fear rage from their painful screams

For whenever the truth be told

they harm us only in our dreams

We pine for that one's acceptance

a glint in the young woman’s eye

The sweet smell of her hair caress

as she wistfully saunters by

Man will always question his fate

search for that brighter inner light

To illuminate his darkness

and scare away the haunting night

For all these things we know of us.
And then a hundred, thousand more.
Life will never answer them all.
As we open up each new door.

So true we may never know all that life has to teach and offer us

Beautifully crafted piece; Tate~ lovely rhyme scheme with cadence spot on

No one controls the hearts desire.
Nor whether it be happy or sad.
As in each one of ours does beat,
torrid seeds both of good and bad.

I love this stanza here, This is such a wonderful write here
Very well expressed!

Tate,
This echos our talks..
you have penned a piece full of wisdom, meloncholy and a glimmer of hope.
"Those few small things all so precious,
create memories cherished gone.
Recalling times of loves sweet bliss.
Loving moments of youth go on. "

This verse really touched my heart. Yes, as we continue on this journey we recall the road traveled.

Lovely, Tate...

I really like it! It has a main theme of love, but also seems to touch on other things relating to darkness. It probably shouldn't shock me that your poems take on a very masculine point of view.

I adore your vocabulary! It really challenges readers. The more sophisticated words describe things much better than common words would. Nice job!
