Knowledge

A Poem by Tate Morgan
"

Don't fear the ones with their own ways For they may know what we do not

We come into life as innocents

no prejudice upon our soul

Washed clean by a new beginning

not a single debt, nor a toll

We have two choices most of us

codes of fathers we just swallow

Or blaze a path in loneliness

others wonder but don't follow

It is that rare one we may find

who chooses to go his own way

These are the ones we all admire

not for them but us we should pray

Fearless souls unafraid to die

they the ones bucking convention

Who teach us all our life's follies

by adding a new dimension

As life progresses onward

to it's predestined conclusion

We learn then teach the least of us

to see truth not the delusion

Don't fear the ones with their own ways

for they may know what we do not

He who turns toward forgiveness

has discovered what most forgot

I think I love this because I am one of the one's who does their own thing. One of my favorite artists, Erykah Badu, said it best... "People are quick to judge and assassinate that which they do not understand." We all need to learn tolerance, respect, and appreciation for all no matter what they choose.

Very nicely written, I especially like the song inclusion... although I'm not really one who likes people other than The Beatles performing this song (except the movie version). But I did enjoy it. It's a very honest and expressive poem. Well done.

But do we? Opinion seems divided on whether we come as innocents and gradually become corrupted by life, or enter as evil, and gradually become civilised. The one thing I do agree with is contained in the final two lines - forgiveness. To forgive is divine...

Some words of wisdom and some items to ponder. That is part of good poetry. Nicely done.

The sad thing is that now, the thinker wld have a mobile phone in his hand and wld not be doing, maybe not even be capable of doing, much thinking as his damn phone wld keep distracting him with soul eroding nonsense. Ach, and he wld have an iPod on, too. Am I right, or am I right? Who bothers, actually thinking these days? And, if I am not much mistaken, it's not what you know but how you feeeeeeel. All you have to do now is feel, thinking is no longer necessary, in fact in many situations it is a positive impediment so accepatance. My suggestion is that the statue be melted down. I am intent on blazing a path in loneliness where I never switch my phone on and avoid others as much as possible as I find I am always happier when on my own and never lonely, other people being...

This is very true, forgiveness takes a weight off your soul. In all this poem is so beautiful and well expressed.
