Over the Rainbow

Over the Rainbow

A Poem by Tate Morgan
"

There memories go to bloom again in the warm spring rains of the sky He’ll see her beauty stand before him not the passage of time go by

"

No more words dreamed by the poet

the skies are not kissed by the dew

Stories of the life they once shared

just memories of loves sweet hue

Tender words no longer touch him

gentleness he no longer lives

Alone he hides within himself

no beauty in life left to give

Music no longer rules his soul

a quiet mind surrounds this heart

Darkness descends upon the world

since he and she were torn apart

For he so loved her so complete

shared with her inner thought

To heaven go his soul alone

a lifetime with love he fought

There memories go to bloom again

in the warm spring rains of the sky

He’ll see her beauty stand before him

not the passage of time gone by

Then these two will greet each other

like some old friends and lovers do

To find the love they lost in life

where wonders of passions renew

Beautiful and so perfect. I felt this great loss when my wife died. You have captured that like no other writing I have ever seen. And then you do a wonderful transition to hope. The story is not over there is more to come. I almost feel God had you write this for me. It is a blessing to me. With tears in my eyes I say thank you.

This one brought me down a few notches Tate. Driving at the heart of love and longing and the need of someone in those times that are the hardest for us. The separation, the desire and the hope for eventual reunion. Great stuff man, loved it.

especially like these lines:
"He’ll see her beauty stand before him
not the passage of time gone by"
interesting perspective ... sad .. but beautiful .. i appreciate the hope given in your closing lines
anyone who has suffered the pain of loosing a love can easily relate ... i like the open for interpretation aspect of this .. it engages me brain .. what little there be ;)
about your note... its nice to have one that will hold quietly and heart that is sad .. you are lucky my friend :)
Merry Christmas of course ... peace and joy

As always wonderful, thank you.

This stanza was my favourite:

Music no longer rules his soul
a quiet mind surrounds this heart
Darkness descends upon the world
since he and she were torn apart

It made me feel love and such sadness all at the same time :)

thank you Len I do believe pain brings out the best work not joy
Where do broken hearts go? Do they find themselves in the poets words, heal through the tenderness of others or renew themselves in "the warm spring rains of the sky"? I revel in the Love that continues to surround me.....and forfeit regrets. Barbz
