Just one question

Just one question

A Poem by Amila Jay
"

Moving forward

"

Every day I wake up to pray this day will have a new beginning

A brand new day where life has just begun and yesterday never existed

I tell my self not to dwell on problems that makes my life so uneasy

But for some reason it keeps coming back to me,

And tears me in to pieces.

Images slow dancing in my mind

Showing me the things that I like

And hope that’s striding along my life

Is asking me just one question

After all the tears that I’ve shed

And being heart broken many a time

I’m trying to overcome these delusions

And trying to never have expectations

As Images slow dancing in my mind,

Showing me the things that I like

And hope that’s striding along my life

Is asking me just one question of a lifetime

How much are you really willing to sacrifice?

I fight with the answer to this question daily. I know what I want...but is it worth the chance and sacrifice? Oh hell...I think it's easier at times not knowing the answer to that. But I know I can't stay in the same place forever. I need to move forward or backwards. Somebody push me please. :)

Some will sacrifice everything, while others nothing. This is a great question to all.

heart felt; and I can relate
sometimes we go back to suffering because it is familiar
each day seems similar
suffering becomes comforting
until the discomfort weighs on us.

Maybe we have to sacrifice everything, all we are. After all what is the point of being who we are if we don't get to the promised land. And so to sacrifice ourselves is no sacrifice as to life an unfulfilled life is not to live.

The past is the foundation we stand today dont let it be the roof that falls on you Better to walk over it than to have it walk on you

Moving on can be difficult... the complexity of emotions can get in the way...
But, Tomorrow brings a new day, another chance to start fresh... Nice write!

A beautiful poem that asked many good questions. Life must be lived to be understood. People who closed door to possibilities. Will not know the chance of love and great adventure. I like the way you looked at life and chance in the poem. I like the question at the end of this poem. Thank you for the excellent poem.
