My Words

My Words

A Poem by Arthur Rider
"

philosphical poem on language

"

My Words are like stones.
They fly with great effort.
They land with harsh tones.

My words are like fish,
that swim in murky waters.
They sometimes become a dish.

My words are spoken,
and are lightly taken
or hatefully broken.

My words are written.
They can be savored,
or bitterly bitten.

My words are here.
Please listen to the laugh,
then listen to the tear.

How will you react to my words?
