Contest Conformity

Contest Conformity

A Poem by Briana O'Connor
"

Rise up! Be free! Don't fall victim to society's idea of normalcy!

"

Assemblage of the jury,

here I stand before you,

brooding on the ineffable,

awaiting your execration,

cogitating my next move.

I’m proudly positioned before thee,

as an array of what is me.

I shall not bow before you,

nor reason, bend or break.

I’ll risk my own demise,

before conformity.

Revolt, I say!

Rise up, be free.

May your souls be rid of bigotry.

To blackened hearts, I grant you paint.

Let sunshine rain,

may words flow unbound.

One mustn't be abstemious.

Robotic enslavement awaits you.

Hypnosis will clutch your mind.

A prison will surround us all.

We must stand up and contest.

Rebellion is my choosing,

whether by infantry,

or an army of just me.

Protest I must, protect I will.

Fight for the oblivious, and

demolish the close minded fools.

I liked it, but from the first picture with the Happy Face being different, I flashed on that all the way through the read. Very happy work in a rebellious way.

Thank you 😃
Oh my goodness. You absolute master, you. I can barely express how much I love this. Ever since I was a child I used to tell my teacher I didn't do my homework because of my ideological nonconformity.
You expressed with this poem exactly the attitude I'm trying to spread in my environment. Stop doing what everybody else does. Start seeing things that aren't in front of you. Stop being blind towards issues you like to ignore.
I f*****g love you for writing this, I really do. I'd give 1000 points if I could.
