Beware of the Writer

Beware of the Writer

A Poem by Azure Montessa (Blue)
"

Be warned.

"
Beware of the writer
who professes his love for you
in lengthy letters
and  in the privacy of a poem.

His vocabulary bank boasts of literary luxury:
similes--sickeningly sugarcoated,
metaphor--menacingly multicolored,
cliches--cunningly crafted.

His verses hold nothing
but empty expressions and poetic pretenses.
Devised to deceive.
Written to wound.

He'll place you on a pedestal
only to watch your downfall to the depths of despair,
another victim of alphabet's ancient art.

Beware of the writer
who weighs your worth with his words.

I like this poem. I heard writers love the pen and paper over real life. A writer could be dangerous if you had caught their attention. Maybe they need a muse or a deadly siren to steal their soul. Thank you for sharing the entertaining poetry.

Amazing. The Pen really is mightier than the Sword.

Beware of any guy that puts a chick on a pedestal period. She can't live up to those kinds of expectations. She's a human being and likely every bit as damaged as the guy is. Good Poem. Azure.

Wow and I didn't even say anything funny that time....ha ;-) Always a pleasure you crazy nutter.
Oh NO ! Is this a warning that I should adhere?
How shall I tell all my 1000 crooning Lovers that I cannot listen to their Beautiful words of Love no more?
How can I walk away from all the Warmth and Love.
Whom shall share my intimacy's and fantasies?
How can I just Give up the strokes of pen?
Whom shall Wisk me away to Romantic Isle and Emerald Seas.
How could I breathe another breath?
I'd Rather die in their fantasy then to be left abandoned on lost Islands of solitude and self stroking.
No! Not I ... I shall Die in their Words of Contentment and Joy ! :-)

Great Write though........ Nice Words But........Let The Show go On :-)

This is fabulous. The pen is truly a mighty weapon and when placed in the wrong hands it can certainly go awry. Beware the Writer should be a sign posted on the front gate. I really like the heaviness and the poetic warning in this piece.

I especially liked your second stanza. Naturally I liked this piece as a whole; afterall, it is far too easy to be mislead by words--each holds a meaning and a nuance which can be twisted.
