The Silenced

The Silenced

A Poem by Ashley Lytle
"

A poem about those who are oppressed.

"
Once alive and thriving
Now withering away
Slowly shrinking into nothing
A memory now forgotten
Hidden in the mess
It's importance is ignored
They said it didn't matter
So they buried it alive
The cries of the silenced muffled away
Their deaths ignored by us
When will their cries be heard?
Begging for us to listen
How many must die for us to make a change already
For us to hear their calls for help
Must it end in tragedy?
