Such Great Heights

A poem about having feelings for a "nice guy" that I thought would catch me when I fell. Spoiler: he didn't.

I want to write poems about you

But I fear I’ll ruin it

Build you up in my head

Or, more likely, jinx it

Because time and time again

I let myself fall

Without a safety net

Or any way to cushion the blow

So I’m hoping this time will be different

I will arm myself with knowledge

And before I fall

I’ll be sure that you’ll catch me
