The Waiting Game

The Waiting Game

A Poem by Ashley Armstrong
"

I made this poem while cutting random words out of a magazine

"
Kind dragon sending forbidden letters
To the village on the edge of time
The village tales talk of the old man's ghost
In the world beyond the road ahead
They never imagine new life
The waiting game is over when they die
And their souls shine on the water

I really like the last line. It was slightly unexpected and it paints an interesting image.
