HOPE FOR A BATTLE OF NO VICTORS

HOPE FOR A BATTLE OF NO VICTORS

A Poem by Asra Hakak

These scars will stark against your skin,
Each one a reminder of the battle we faced!
As you bleed dry,
Your blood staining the cobblestones red!
As you become another statistic
In the never ending headcount of those dead,
I wonder which war your death supports?
For the umpteenth time which belief was tended
I WONDER;
Was it simply the unfortunate loss of innocence?
Or will your death make a difference worth note?
A nameless face in those minutes of chaos!
Limbs and bones and ashes grey!
Already fast becoming a memory,
So entangled you are in the deaths fray!
We know why we fight these wars :
That provide us nothing but unnecessary pain!
I know not if this inconsented sacrifice of yours
was nothing but a lost in vain!
But for this time , LET'S HOPE
In a battle that seems to know no victors,
For a truth that seems to run rote ;

These ghosts will disappear!
These fears will shrink!
These scars will fade!
These wounds will heal!
These days will vanish!
These Strom's will end!
These sufferings will dissipate!
These hearts will mend!
HOLD ON ;
LET'S HOPE , WE WILL BE FREE!

Fight, flights or stand your ground.
"Was it simply the unfortunate loss of innocence?
Or will your death make a difference worth note?
A nameless face in those minutes of chaos!

Already fast becoming a memory, "
Death in battles. Quickly forgotten by government and men. So many forgotten graveyards. The poem solid and true thoughts. Thank you for sharing the excellent poetry.

A very soulful write.
Deep and emotional.
The theme carries through
the entire poem.
Just when feel there is nothing
left, there is a glimmer of hope
clinging, holding on.
Hope never dies.
"These ghosts will disappear!
These fears will shrink!
These scars will fade!
These wounds will heal!
These days will vanish!
These Strom's will end!
These sufferings will dissipate!
These hearts will mend!"
Depth of expression is
excellent. Please be careful
of minor spelling errors.
ex. "You blood staining the cobblestones red!"
It could read:
"Your blood staining the cobblestones red!
Other than this minor error your writing skill
is very good.
Perhaps you can read it aloud before posting.
This is a good way to catch minor errors
and correct them.
You are doing a great job. Keep writing!
