The Big Apple

The Big Apple

A Poem by audacious

New love was born in lovely New York

But who knew this new love would spark?

They knew that new love was something of books,

Something that people who knew would mark

With underlines and an exclamation points,

Something they could only dream,

To them New York love was a something of a fairy tale,

Something the bored gods would scheme.

But these New Yorkers who discovered new love

Knew that they were forbidden, that their timing wasn't right.

Two hearts who knew they were meant to be

Would end up turning cheeks, loving from afar, however

The two, they knew that one day it would be bliss

That New York would call their names,
That New York would signal their love its que,

and it would be how they imagined, ending their waiting game.
