A Poem by Lily E. Lin

Perhaps, at the edge of another precipice
One takes a look and imagines the fall-
-ing Ting Tong Ting Ringing
As paperclips tumbling,
Dropped in the silence
And thoughts are rumbling
Gearing up for some grand departure
Some great adventure heading out on the horizon
At the edge of awareness, perhaps it is a geyser
Bursting forth rainbow colored smoke
A mist covering the plateaus
In hues of vibrant pastel shades
Pasted pictures on the walls
Silent reminders, portals into other halls
Into another land, another time
And spilling from the basin of our minds
Buried amid all the rumbling thoughts
Churning in some great mixing pot
Stewing out half-feelings and semi-imaginings
And drip drop!
They are dripping as we are tumbling
Off of this departure point, this precipice
Like paperclips falling into a newfound silence
