Silent One

Silent One

A Poem by The Avid Bibliophile

I am the Silent One

You do not see, but I am here

You do not see my pain

I do not shed a tear

I suffer in silence

Feeling so alone

I have no friends to count on

I’m here all on my own

I am the Silent One

Older than my years

I keep all of their secrets

I hide from you my fears

You think I do not notice

When you look and laugh at me

You think that I don’t care

But it hurts me to see

I am the Silent One

I’m hopelessly lost

I’ve numbed myself from feeling

My heart is full of frost

So look and when you see me

Stop and lend a hand

Help me to the light again

Help me to take a stand

I am the Silent One

I can’t speak for myself

But with your gentle guidance

I surely can be helped

Wow. This is sad yet beautiful. Sometimes people are looking at you, but they are not really seeing you are calling out for help. Amazing write, it really touched my heart.
