Wish upon a star

Wish upon a star

A Poem by Bibie

It’s 2:20 in the morning,

And the insomnia hits again

Hits as usual, except

Except this comes with pain

Pain from my thoughts and my tooth,

From words said and some unsaid

Words elude me as they have lately

I try to think out loud, but

Silence and I are inseparable

Like my safe house for everything,

For so much I can take,

Before I dare to break

The need to say yes and not mean no

Say no, and not mean maybe

Drawing a fine line between black and white,

Is the shield I have against it all.

Against the monsters I fear the most

The ones I create by myself

Tonight I wish upon a star

For my newest aspirations.

To light up and scare away the dark,

To fall behind, but get up in time,

To give all of me if need be,

To be genuinely happy from deep within.
