Pas De Deux

Pas De Deux

the muse of a lover

"
Pas De Deux

Listen listen
Closer closer
It appears it seems
In regards to dreams
A change arrives today

Imagine imagine
To taste to savour
Joy and wonder
Again again perchance
As when the magic
It chose you to favour
You found it in the dance

It became you
Do you remember
Your essence
Your soul ancient
Your heart tender
It can never be given back
It can never be surrendered

Silken slippers
You donned them laced them
You threaded them over under
Then drawn taut
The magic all around
Sweet limbs taken with music
Within those artful knots
You were freed to soar unbound

That ache again
To breathless fly
Born to it
Glowed with it
Always ever
Now you accept in wisdom
That time is gone
Passed and by

As years advance most things
Their time runs out they never stay
Yet another dance is there to try
Your muse that is part of you
It can never slip away
So darling it is simple
This is all I have to say

Dance for you in your soul
Dance for me in your heart
Dance like you have always
Danced before

Dance to complete you
Dance and I shall reach you
Then grace me with love
Within your dance
I need that ever more

this is a very lovely poem. i picture a ballerina who doesn't dance anymore for any reasons like she aged or got disillusioned by it, and is being encouraged to dance...the last two stanzas are very empowering. dance could even be a metaphor for other things. nice poem.

This is a very beautiful poem, evoking great imagery and for anyone who has ever experienced the thrill of dancing, a deep emotional meaning. Great stuff!

Delicate as the fingers soft down a loved ones cheek. I can see swans on the lake.

It is about a ballerina who could dance no more. She turned to her painting, and art pieces from ceramic and blown glass. She is one of a kind. And yes, the dance was always a metaphor for us.
