My heart beats in time with your laughter
- you, laughing -
curled up entwined in my sweat-soaked sheets
I never thought I’d hear that sound
I never thought I could let my guard down
     around you.

Is the word Gay in the title meant as homosexual? If so the poem makes perfect sense.

You're right; Short and sweet, but it's also realizing as well, so it's all good there. Just one thing that I'm really puzzled about; "Gay Cows"? Very unusual choice for the title of this writing, but no worries...
