Renaissance Rays

Renaissance Rays

A Poem by barleygirl
"

thoughts upon a morning sky

"

Dawn peek-a-boo through a haze of lace
crisscrossed with crayon contrails
scanning the sky I feel an embrace
while a saucy south wind prevails.

Freshness simmers anticipation
reattaching lost bits of my youth
simply breathing now a celebration
from the cosmos trickles my truth.

Never saw all these dented decades
as leading to a late renaissance
a seductive stream of joy cascades
sweet surrender my natural response.

See the swell of Grandmother Moon
confirm countless cycles of living
sooner or later the brilliant balloon
will rouse our dance of thanksgiving.

dear Barleygirl... I love the idea of Grandmother Moon... as we do love our grandchildren from a celestial point of view always and forever. The sky has moods of colors that sweep across our hearts. Your poetry is very calming and sets the sun over the horizon of our dreams. truly, Pat

Renaissance in this case is really a symptom of maturity. Being able to now recognise and appreciate the quieter natural aspects of the world we live in. .
Those contrails may look beautiful, but they are, of course, symbolic of the pollution and frenetic life styles that have now become "progress".
There is plenty of " food for thought" in this poem to seek out that quiet contemplation. (((Hugs)))
